Subject: OT: Epson R2400 Printer Failure
My R2400 is pretty darn old. Not sure when I bought it, but I'd guess
about 5 years ago. I estimate I've made a couple thousand prints.
Now, according to the Epson tech, it has a hardware failure of some
sort. It started spitting ink now and then and ruining prints. Now it
won't work at all. The two red lights just flash.
Epson will give me an owner loyalty price on a new 2880 of about $480
after rebate. Is it worth taking the R2400 in for service??? The bench
fee for a diagnosis is $60. I have no idea what the repair might cost.
But if I decide against it, I'm out the $60.
I'd get the new printer, myself.
