They used to buy map data from TeleAtlas (owned by TomTom, and I think
they dropped the TeleAtlas name, as of today!). Now Google maintains
their own map data. Since then, the response time to problem reports
has improved tremendously for me. My Google problem reports have been
addressed within a week or two, whereas I still have open TeleAtlas
problem reports dating back to 12/2008. ("We have determined that
your report remains a problem in the 2010.06 release of Tele Atlas Map
data.")

Also, when Google dropped TeleAtlas, my correct home address started
working. I had to fudge it to an incorrect town name to get it to
work with TeleAtlas.
