Charlie,
If I were designing the circuit, I might think about putting a voltage
limiter on the beeper, (possibly inherent in the beeper) so you can't
have the battery go flatline just before THAT picture. Try a fresh set
of batteries.

The camera is otherwise working swell - but has anyone else ever had a similar
issue with the speaker failing after a bit of exposure to weather?
