I don't know about this particular model, but the "*" lenses tend to be
"cold dead hands" lenses (i.e., "You can have my lens when you pry it from
my cold dead hands"). I have the F* 300/4.5 and FA* 200/2.8 and it'd be
really tough for someone to come up with enough value to get me to trade
them.
I've seen its successor, the FA* go for just under € 2,000 in the bay
twice, it is totally out of my reach. I have a Canon FD 200/4 macro
and it is awesome but not a clue if it can be made to work and stop
down on a K mount. I guess register distance is the killer word again.
Oh well, been wanting to sell it anyway. Last body I had to use it
with got stolen as it is... Any indication what a reasonable price for
the A* would be?
Cheers
Ecke
I haven't been paying attention but the sometimes the A* version of a
lens sells for considerably more than the FA*. I know the A* 85 f1.4
excites me a lot more than the FA version, not that I'm ever likely to
own either at this point. Which leg were you thinking you could get
along without?
