I quite agree. And I have ample evidence here. In front of me on my
desk at this moment I have a Pentax MX with an SMC-M 50.1.4 *and* a
Sony A850 with a Super Multi-Coated Takumar 50/1.4 :) The viewfinder
in the MX is indeed a bit larger, but the Sony wins on coverage,
brightness and eyepoint. I find it's even easier to manual focus with
the Sony.

I kept my MX even though I have no plans to shoot 35mm film ever again
but just because it's such a nice camera. (That and the fact that I
couldn't get any money for it these days!)
