Updating to Win 7 broke our designer's Photoshop CS install at work.  So I can 
quite easily believe that 5.0LE would also stop working because it's as old as 
the hills.

We tried setting it to run in XP compatibility mode - if I remember correctly 
you can do this by right-clicking on the program file and following your nose 
(sorry I don't remember the exact details).  In our case this solved our 
problem for a day or two, then it fell over again and we ended up purchasing an 
upgrade to CS4.  This opened a whole new can of licensing hell but that's 
another story.
