But screwing up their monitor settings will affect their impression of your competitors' web sites every bit as much as yours, so it's a wash. (And, as Mike says, people this dense probably won't notice either.) Anyway, one of the *good* things about the Internet as a medium is that ultimate control belongs to the end user.
