At first glance that looks like some sort of TVR.  Slight chance of it being a 
Ginetta.

Nope not a speedwell sprite, it doesn't have the sprite rocker panels. you can 
see the curve under the quick release of the bonnet. At first I thought that 
was a daimler SP250 in the picture, but I bet its one of those harrington 
Lemans Alpines.
