I keep a copy in my camera bag. Hard to do with a PDF unless I have a computer handy. Doesn't need batteries either.

Yesterday I downloaded the latest firmware upgrade for my new [used] *ist DS. While I was at it I went looking for the manual for the DS2, as I recalled someone here saying that the firmware upgrade made the DS the equivalent of the DS 2 -- or something like that.

Anyway, I found the manual, placed the order, and was getting ready to whip out my credit card when I noticed a statement to the effect that they would *bill me* after the manual shipped. I didn't know *anybody* did that anymore.

PDF download is free - you need the hard-copy that bad?
