Hi Bill, all:
this is a wonderful macro lens; it's the one I kept after buying a 
couple of others and keeping the one  I liked best.
I bought the Elicar 90/2.5,
the SMC-M 100/4 macro (actually, this one was it's equal, but I felt i 
could sell this one for more money than the Vivitar......)
No lens  resolution line pairs per millimeter test stuff, I just took 
some pictures  of my orchids  on equal terms for all the lenses and 
judged the vivitar the best,  especially at the middle apertures.
