That's why I *always* choose a focus point manually.  I found the auto point 
selection on my K10D to be too unpredictable.

When I took photos of the bike stage of the duathlon I was having to point into 
the sun.  Most riders were wearing black clothing and their faces were in 
shadow, and they were fairly strongly backlit.  The continuous AF really did 
not like that.

Part of the problem may be the meatbag behind the camera though.  I definitely 
need more practice.
