Expect a significant improvement in high ISO performance from the K-5 due to the new, cleaner Sony sensor. I'd expect it to perform somewhere between the current K-x and the new K-r, which would be about 1-2 stops better than the K-7. Combine that with the K-7's greatly superior metering over the K-x/K-r and the K-5 most likely be a high ISO monster, especially since Pentax is currently enjoying a somewhat unusual period of being the clear king of high ISO performance in the APS-C market (Canon, oddly, is in dead last as their 18MP sensor needs so much NR at high ISO's that the 12MP Sony-based cameras outresolve the 18MP Canon's at ISO 6400) -Adam -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
