Banksias are a group of Australian plants - in fact they are my
favourite Australian plants. A Banksia would have been Australia's
national flower had I been making the decision. But I wasn't asked.
Anyway...
I've been photographing Banksias since the mid 1970s so I thought a
small gallery was overdue. Most are from the digital era - you'll be
able to pick the scanned ones because they tend to be a bit soft.
Why a 'battery' of bansias? Collective nouns such as "Bunch" and
"Bouquet" are simply too insipid for such a dramatic group of plants.
