Walt I'm fairly certain that requests to participate in the Gallery are handled by a real person - there's no automated response. If I remember correctly, it takes a few days to get your 'Artist's Code'. Once you have that, you go to 'Your Account' to set up a password and then, to log in, you use your email address and password, as Boris said.
I can't even recall what my 'Artist's Code' is. I mustn't have recorded it, but it seems that it's not needed once you have it.
