Unless you are using encrypted email, emails are sent as clear text
over the network and can be intercepted easily. Also, since many
emails need to be routed through several servers on its way from point
a to point b, anyone with access to those servers' store and forward
systems can easily audit emails that are not encrypted at any time.

A web host with an unpublished address and authentication permissions
is the most secure way to share images amongst friend IMO.

As someone else said, nothing you publish is ever truly secure. It's
all a matter of degree.

What's so naughty about pictures of naked people that causes such fear
and desire for security anyway?
