Is it good enough? Depends on what you're doing with it. I've used it with a 500/f8 mirror lens with doubler (1000mm effective), and with a 165/f2.8 (on the 6x7), and find it does the job just fine, at a decent price. A panning feature would be nice, like some of the heavier duty ballheads, but for now I just rotate the center column.
