It was Godfrey's consititutional right to act in such a way to provoke
Bill, who exercised his constititional right to use a word that some
found offensive, who then tried to suppress that constitutional right.
I think you go too far characterizing it as "tried to suppress".
He chose to attack the person rather than counter the argument..
Further, his choice of language was offensive and several list members
told him so
He then left in a snit.
