I echo the comment from ekinator - the filter "stack caps" work well for storing the filters at home and can also serve to keep a small number organized in the field. There is a cheaper alternative. Stack your good filters, and then, top and bottom, add "sacrificial" filters as caps. E.g., that old cheap scratched UV filter that you would never use again is a perfect candidate for protecting one end of a stack of good filters. In the field it may be a bit more fiddly work to pull from the stack a filter that you want, compared to the filter wallets mentioned by Bob W and Gregory, but if you are messing with filters, you are already putting up with the screwing on & screwing off fiddly bits anyway.
