I have the M24-50.
I too thought it a great idea when I bought it.
I used to own a tamron adaptall 28-50 which I liked apart from the slight 
yellow cast it used to give and this was bought to replace it.
I have found I never use it and it's still sitting in its box. Not that I 
don't like the quality or anything, I just don't particularly like two 
touch zooms. Last time it came out was two years ago when it went to London 
with me.
