Cory, I've have flown a fair amount since 9/11 with camera equipment. A potential problem I see is if your backpack won't fit thru the carry-on baggage scanning equipment - several airports have a metal cutout, with maximum allowable dimensions (height X width) thru which you must pass your carryons. The other issue is film - I've never had a problem sending my film thru the scanner, but with heightened security I'm concerned about the potential for film fogging, so on my last trip I put all my film - 20 rolls - into a zip lock bag after I removed the film from the cannisters and requested a hand check. The guard looked at me like she had no idea what to do and I wound up getting patted down, shoes removed and sniffed along with my baggage. I got the feeling this was all because I asked for special attention for my film. It sucks because most of this added "security" has very little to do with actual security.
