The Screw mount Takumars have a beautiful build and focusing feel. Often their optics are equal to the later K, M, and A lenses. Their build quality almost always exceeds the A's, often exceeds the M's and sometimes the K's. The major loss in operation is loss of all automation. Lenses must be metered stop down and act like old fashioned pre-set lenses. Additionally quickly changing from a screw-mount back to bayonet mount lens is well not impossible but very unlikely. You can have the adapter on the screw-mount lens and switch from bayonet to screw. The reverse requires un-screwing the lens, removing the adapter from the camera body, mounting the bayonet.
