When I had my MX, the 45-125 was the lens that was usually on it. It's a very useful general/portrait zoom range, and it holds focus as you zoom (assuming you can zoom without twisting). There's a little pincushion distortion at the long end, but unless you're doing architecture work, it won't matter.
