A huge potential advantage of DNG that no one's mentioned yet (I think
- I haven't followed this long thread scrupulously) is that every DNG
file contains an MD5 hash code that permits file validation. The
options for using it are still a bit cumbersome but more advanced
implementations are on the way. This is one of the main reasons that
the ASMP "Bestflow" initiative, funded by the Library of Congress,
advocates DNG as *the* format for storage and archiving.
