John, my Metz flash has two light sources - one main (tilts and swivels)
and one supplementary - only points forward. It can be turned on or off,
obviously, and its output is regulated by two gray filters provided with
the flash. I suppose, it means that I can direct all flash output to
bounce and use the secondary light source for fill in. This is what I am
doing in fact when I have 'proper' ceiling over my head.
