Hello All, I'd like to thank everyone for their ideas both on and off the list. Those that were not useful made us smile, though I'm not sure we have a conclusion as yet.
We now have a better idea of Russian names and will investigate the names of the bells at our tower as well to see if any of them fit the bill (though I know one is called Thomas and that doesn't fit at all).
