I caught a faint whiff of something bad, and checked the attic.  I found 
another raccoon, full grown, just inside of the entrance above where I found 
the other one.

Fortunately, this one hadn't started to stink. I don't know what killed them 
both, but if I don't hear any noises up in the attic for the next couple of 
days, I should try and screen off that hole.
