Shot my first batch of RAW images a week ago on a trip to Pittsburgh occasioned
by a death in the family. With Paul Sorenson's help I've gotten them out of the
camera and onto the computer using a LR import preset he had recommended. I'm a
bit disappointed in what I see. Almost nothing is really sharp. Much is not
sharp at all. It seems to be my biggest challenge at the moment.

That said, I understand RAW allows more leeway for making post-capture
corrections. There are some images I like that are a little to a lot
underexposed. There is one whole group, in which I'm especially interested,
that were shot at ISO 3200. I have absolutely no idea where to start. There are
so many things that can be changed, I have no idea what the names of most of
them mean -- hue? saturation? luminance?

A video that Paul recommended to me -- it was about the preset he uses --
suggests that there are a few especially critical parameters that might improve
these images significantly, and provide me a place to start learning. I'm open
to suggestions about things to try.

Thanks,
