They seem to come in two types - those with rubber like a windshield
wiper and those with sponge elements.
The sponge type have to be wetted before using them. If you don't
remember to dip the sponge type in PhotoFlo before using them, you can
scratch your negatives. After dipping them, you have to squeeze the
excess liquid out.
The "windshield wiper" ones should also be wetted before using, but you
don't have to squeeze excess liquid out.

You don't like the commercial squeegees? I've never had a problem
with them before.

After washing, give the film a short soak in Kodak Photoflo. Just
follow the directions on the bottle. Then gently "squeegee" the
film between your second and third fingers, wiping it from top to

Don't use a commercial film squeegee. They suck. But Photoflo is
the key to clean negs.

I didn't get this with my first film but second and third
films have traces on them after drying. Seems like limestone

Now, I use simple dishwashing product as wetting agent. Maybe
this is the culprit? Or maybe not enough wetting agent?
Any suggestions welcome. Thank you.
