Over Super-8? An improvement in what aspect? I am very partial to Super-8
and still enjoy the images produced from my Canon 510XL super-8 as opposed
to video.

A dinosaur, I am not. I'm only 25 y/o. I like to think of myself as a
revivalist.

Very relevant. Please reread what I wrote. I said nothing about
quality, only that video was an improvement.
In this case, the improvement was both quality, and more to the
point, convenience.
Compact discs are more convenient than vinyl records in many
ways.
Beta died for the same reason that Royal 25 died, which was poor
marketing by a complacent company.
If digital becomes both an economiclly viable alternative, and
more importantly, a more convenient way to get prints, then it
would have a good chance to supplant consumer film use.
I just don't see this happening.
EPA regulations, now that scares me.
