I have never found an M or A lens in the range of "normal" to be anything other than just adequate. None are bad, but none seem outstanding. My current most-used lens, though, is the A35/2 because it is just "good enough" even though not excellent.
Sorry to put a damper on things. :-( The FA50/1.4 excells so far beyond the rest that I have used that I find it *very difficult to part with*. (Just like my Caltar HR 210/5.6 and Ysarex 135/4.5.) Some lenses, once you get one, you just hang on tight.
