Ah, I remember lusting after that camera in about 1970. One of my earlier concerns with the Spotmatic I was using was that shutter speeds were in 1-f-stop detentes, and I was using Kodachrome (with not much latitude). The mere idea of a stepless shutter that could give you 1/243 of a second seemed so precise to me back then.
I even recall the 1970 hype on it. The ES was for electronic shutter, but one author said that it should stand for "exposure simplicity".
