The little screw is the stop on the Micro-FourThirds side of the adapter mount. It stops the bayonet from turning farther than the disengagement point on the Micro-FourThirds lens mounting flange.
The same stop is there on Konica AR, FourThirds and a couple other mounts, IIRC.
