On a related note, I used to use Micrografx software and it was much
easier to do a cut, feather and paste. I always find the feather
command harder to use in PS.

Hmm. A photo of someone looking up a cat's bum is an unfortunate
composition but whether or not it's bad editing would surely depend on
the context.
For me the interesting slant in this piece is that one can get away with
even abysmal Photoshopping work and very few will notice. Look how many
photographers just on this list, folks with a highly developed visual
sense, who missed the PS botch in there!
So don't waste touch-up time; save the careful feathering for those
cormorant shots.
