I've heard or actually read somewhere, may be even on this list that
raccoons are quite nasty little critters once they get close to human
housing. If it is indeed so, then perchance by letting them know that
you're watching them, and by /nastiness coming/ purely theoretically
trying to distract them from procreating, you did a good thing to
yourself...

This woke me up this morning before the alarm.
It was happening on the roof of our house just in front
of the high-ceiling window (about 8-10 feet above the ground)
It was about 17F (-8C) outside (which is rather rear for this part of
Texas).
The photos were taken with a life-view with a hand extended up above my
head through a dirty windows.
I was too lazy to dig the ladder out of the cold garage (and afraid they
would have been gone by the time I set it up).
