it's asking quite a lot to post the pictures without a gallery giving an overview and a sense of how many there are. As it is you're asking people to click one after the other with no idea of how many pictures there are, and no way of telling whether the next one is interesting or not.
I suspect that most people who were not involved with the event will find it too much of a struggle to plough through them all. I think you need to be more ruthless in your editing, take the point of view of the detached photographer who is more interested in a good picture then in yet another shot of some sweaty stranger crossing the finishing line.
