Worthy catch and under trying conditions, Brendon. Your son is to be rewarded for his sharp eyes. Not to detract from this image, but in the interest of ornithological accuracy, I don't think it's a Red-Shouldered hawk. They have a scattered speckled chest. I have shots of this species as well, but my bird book doesn't have a decent photo from this angle and with these chest markings.
