I wasn't quite that ridiculous about it.

I tried to find one at fry's, but none of the ones there had a switch to leave 
them on, they all had the buttons that had to be held continuously.  I was able 
to get a clip on light, with either two or 6 leds that would stay on.  Of 
course, the next night, I found one that I already had, taped to one of my 
water jug flash diffusers.

It's a tricky balance in a dark room.
