The following is information from my favorite Pentax Rep. Hope it answers some of the questions asked here:
Graywolf, You might not have noted all the features, but surely you noted that the lens mount was a metal mount, just like the ZX-7. I must say that I didn't compare the viewfinder with that of our other SLRs, but I do remember that it was bright and crisp and worthy of manual focus. This camera, of course, is intended for amateur/advanced amateur photographers. It does all the ZX-7 does PLUS DOF preview, eleven custom functions allowing leader-in/leader-out rewinding, 1/3rd stop or 1/2 stop exposure compensation and other options. It brings compatibility with the off-camera wireless TTL flash of the new 360 strobe. A switch (replacing the panorama switch of the ZX-7) permits selection of spot autofocusing or standard three-sensor AF. It just seems to be a ZX-7, but upgraded. And, at a price that's less than the pricing has been on the ZX-7. Seems like a win-win for the consumer to me. Maybe it won't turn the head of you, the die-hard MX fan, but to any previous user of AF Pentax SLRs, this new camera should make for smiles. No, it falls short of the MZ-S, of course, but at little more than a third the price, it's a good deal. - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
