To start with, RTFM. :-) I have mine set, so that in manual mode it will measure the exposure and set the shutter speed based on the aperture. There are a few other options in the menu, but I don't remember them at the moment. It should work with both AF and A lenses. I believe that it'll work on most cameras with old "M" and "K" lenses by stopping them down.
