As for the thought below, - I've been using only the "genuine Epson 
cartridges" on my Epson R2880.
Already 3 times within the last year, I've had a situation when
a brand new cartridge would show that is soon need to be replaced
after it is just inserted (and maybe one  5"x7" or 8.5"x11" is printed), 
and then the next time I power cycle the printer, it is indicated
as being empty.

Epson was good about sending a replacement, but it was a bummer
when it happened with the last cartridge just before Christmas,
when I was printing calendars, and just hadn't ordered the
replacement cartrdiges yet.
