Yes, but if you process for tungsten light you get one set of curves (with red 
further to the right) than if you process for flash (with blue further to the 
right), neither of which quite match what the raw data is doing.  I was 
wondering if there was a set up you could use as a preset that would give you 
the native color balance.  I actually haven't gotten far enough to see if you 
can even get histograms while doing raw to jpeg conversion.  And, to be honest, 
if you had that preset, it would probably apply to the regular histogram 
anyways.

I could also see advantages of getting the histogram of a small crop of the 
screen. For example, if you were photographing someone against a bright 
background that you didn't care if it was blown out, but you didn't want their 
face to be.  I suppose it would be easier to just get a close up photo of their 
face and check the histogram of that.
