I agree that the owl shots are somewhat soft. If using "auto" selection focus, it may be that a limb intercepted the focus.(?) In this case as the owl is looking to the viewer's right, it may be a more comfortable composition if a bit more room is provided on the right. Still, a nice catch, Jeff.
