Hello fellow Pentaxians, First let me thank all of you for your input to my macro setup question, your responses really opened up a world of possibilities.
I was following the news of the new Pentax body with interest and was struck with an notion that Pentax seems to be updating their entire 35mm SLR. lineup. If that is the case, we can most likely expect to see an update to ZX-5N/3N cameras sometime late this year. If this comes to pass, I made up a list of features that I think would be appropriate (and desirable) enhancements to an already great camera. Here goes: 1. Deletion of the useless Panoramic function. 2. AF system from MZ-S 3. Brighter finder, new data display on the bottom of the finder instead of current position, and can they please make it more legible outdoors. 4. P-TTL with synch at 1/125 + HSS 5. Mirror lock-up or pre-fire. 6. Film leader out function 7. Stronger film drive, every time that it rewinds I feel like the darn thing will give up the ghost. 8. Grip - make it a bit larger. 9. Keep the knobs. 10. Max shutter speed of 1/4000 I am sure that Pentax can implement these without major hassles. Extra functions can be set my combo of a ML and another multifunction button located where the panoramic switch is right now. I think that the following updates will make the camera more appealing to many people considering Pentax cameras vs. those other brands. It will be a shame if Pentax lets the 5N hang out in the cold jut like they did with PZ-1p. Just my $0.02 Best regards, Albert - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
