I think we've reached the bottom of the curve on the dying darkroom. There comes a point when everything old becomes new again. And I think that applies to shooting film and for a percentage of those film shooters, a return to darkroom. There certainly is no better time to find the parts that used to be the most expensive for the lowest prices. Even noticed a Craigslist ad here in Nebraska for a school that was looking for darkroom equipment to set up a NEW PROGRAM in darkroom.
Not only is "straight" darkroom work fun, but there is a whole world of alternative processes out there that one can get into. Sure you can simulate them with Photoshop, but in the end you've got a simulation. There will always be a certain percentage of the audience that will appreciate the Real Thing. http://www.alternativephotography.com/wp/ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
