True of ALL of us, since the original Hebrew and Greek words (Sheol and Hades) that are often translated "hell" are also translated "grave" or "pit" (often by the same translations in other verses) simply meant the common grave of all mankind (state of death). However, that benign understanding of the word wasn't loaded with as much potential for profit for the Church as was the concept that Dante (a comedic playwrite) popularized.
