Depends on the bike, but clearance is often a problem. I can't put full fenders on my track bike, but there are some partial fenders that will fit my frame. On one of my old frames, a very vertical Cyclops track bike, only a "rat-tail" attached to the seatpost would fit. Some messengers use beaters for the winter months, and most of those will fit full fenders. I have 3/4 fenders designed to be easily strapped on and off road bikes - they attach to the seat stays in the back and the fork in the front. Not nearly as good as full fenders, they're still a huge improvement over nothing at all: http://mondociclismo.blogspot.com/2010/01/welcome-to-canada.html I don't know why I feel so much faster without them. Lack of noise, and perhaps better aerodynamics. Most likely just psychological. cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
