used for a while.

it does have the contacts, but when any A (or FA) lens was mounted it showed blank for aperture; that's what surprised me; the guy selling/trading said "see, it shows 'P' when i mount it to my ZX-5" as if that was all the proof he needed -- whether this is the right behavior or not, it wasn't going to meet my goal of shooting in Av with my A 50/1.7 nor my FA 70-210

the prospective seller/trader claimed to know his stuff, but was unable to say whether this was normal

If you put the TC on the camera, the bellows should mount, and you wouldn't
have Auto exposure anyways.

well TC plus bellows would be odd, but really i just wanted a nicer bellows that's easier to use; the no-name one i have has a little play in the mounts, and doesn't transmit aperture despite having a lever to manually indicate the aperture to the camera; but it works, and i used it some more today; overall i think i've realized that i should let go of my SMC 100/4 and look for a more macro-friendly tripod and maybe a focus rail for use with my Sigma EX 100/2.8
