I thought that the Mz-S already had the seals etc... While I personally have no problem with the FPS rate of the Mz-S, I think that Pentax miss guessed the market on this. That and the 1/6000th top shutter speed seem to be the major gripes the reviews have about this camera - though personally I don't see either as a major problem, and no wheres near as big of an omission as the lack of MLU on the F-100. I think Pal's point is right, though - for those who really need the ability to burn through lots of FPS, digital gear will let them shoot a short video clip and pick the frame they like. >For those that have committed to Pentax its up to Pentax to commmit to us >even if such >a camera could be worth $1800 US or $2000 US. It's hard to imagine that just kicking up the FPS would push the price up from $800 to $1800. >An auto focus 80- >200 F2.8 zoom with normal focus (no internal auto focus) would also be a >bonus and its >price tag will not be as high as the current internal focus lense (similar >to the current 2 >touch Nikon). But seriously, Pentax seems to be completely missing the market on fast zooms. Maybe they still view these as esoteric pro-only optics, and have missed that the f2.8 zooms are really quite widespread nowadays. I personally would prefer a non-IF lens as you recommend, but above all would prefer it to be compact and lightweight and balanced to go with the Mz-S. The current power-zoom lens is quite heavy and bulky. I think Pentax would probably be best to go with an IF lens if that meant it was smaller and lighter. >Another idea and it will be available within time is to bring out a mzs- fd1 >This will be the updated slr mentioned above with a function that lets the >user use the >camera in digital mode. I fully wish and hope that Pentax will come out with a competitive digital SLR, if only to signal that they intend to survive the digital revolution. A film / digital body would be an interesting marketing twist - but I'm not sure how viable it would ultimately be. Interesting idea though. - MCC - - - - - - - - - - Mark Cassino Kalamazoo, MI [EMAIL PROTECTED] - - - - - - - - - - Photos: http://www.markcassino.com - - - - - - - - - - - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
