The B&H photo shows a long plunger-looking doohickey, like the adapter that you might use to inflate a basketball with a tire pump. I assume it makes electrical contact with a switch, maybe a solenoid.
If it worked, wouldn't an electronic release shave a couple tenths of a second off response time? What brand of mechanical release do you recommend for trouble-free performance?
