In my search (and procrastination) for a scanner, I was reading this
review a few minutes ago:

Just in the first paragraph of the section "Jumping right in to the
scan quality from negatives", he makes the following comment:

> When it comes to scanning at 4000dpi, however, you can see how
> the lens on the SLR camera gives you cleaner, sharper photos,
> than those on the point-and-shoot.

I'd be interested to know whether this agrees with the collective
experience of the PDML.
